How Our In-Office Procedures Save You Time and Money
First, you have to fight the traffic to find a place to park.
Then, you’ll likely have to pay for the parking space.
Then you have to check in, which can be lengthy, depending upon whether or not you’ve completed the extensive amount of required paperwork beforehand.
After all that, you’re likely exhausted even before you begin a procedure at a large, busy hospital medical center.
At Associates in Women’s Healthcare, we offer the convenience of in-office procedures that not only save you time and headaches—but also save money as well. After all, time is your most valuable resource, and you’ve got family members, coworkers, and friends who depend upon you. Isn’t it worth it to have convenience plus a medical team that has been a partner in your care from the very beginning?
We’ll take a look at how our procedures save you time and money in addition to reviewing some of the most common ones we perform in our office.
How Do In-Office Procedures Save Money?
Because these procedures are performed from the convenience of our practice, there’s not the expensive overhead that comes with larger hospitals or outpatient surgical centers. This can dramatically reduce expenses.
In addition, because we only perform certain gynecological procedures, we’re able to streamline those processes, offering services that are more efficient.
Cost Comparison: Hospital vs. In-Office Procedures
A recent study by Blue Cross Blue Shield compared the cost of in-office procedures and ambulatory service centers (ACS) versus hospital outpatient department (HOPD) settings.
Overall, the HOPD charged nearly 60% more for procedures than the ACS or doctors’ offices according to claims analysis data. For example, mammograms cost 32% more in a HOPD compared to a doctor’s office. Clinical visits also cost 31% more in an HOPD setting.
Like our in-office procedures, ACS centers don’t have the large overhead of hospitals and therefore do not have to charge as much.
